Intéressant outil pour faire du commentaire social (débat électronique) sur un document, avec des possibilités de tri et de tracking ... Parfait pour l'hybridation de cours

Murielle Godement's curator insight, February 16, 2015 2:52 AM

Le pendant de VoiceThread à l'écrit. NowComment permet de commenter / débattre par écrit sur des documents du web en mode privé ou public. Le mode public ne propose pas de filtre de langue, difficile donc pour le moment de proposer des activités FLE de contributions à des débtas ouverts essentiellement en anglais.

Writefull | A new way of writing with confidence

Writefull | A new way of writing with confidence | 7th grade ELA | Scoop.it

We all use Google to check if our writing is correct. We enter different phrases until we find the one that gives us most results – and this is the one we use in our own text. A smart approach, but not without its annoyances: revisiting the Google webpage breaks the flow of our writing, and its results often contain grammatical errors.

An interesting twist on varying your writing. But the comment was correct - there is a bit of a disruption to the writing process and they students need to be reminded that google is not without spelling mistakes!

Charlie Dare's curator insight, April 2, 2014 6:56 AM
Writing a story line or script its usefull ~This looks like an interesting software tool which you can download and use to check your writing against the texts included in thousands of Google books. It can even detect context from the text you are writing and compare it to similar contexts. Interesting stuff!
Ulrike Grabe's curator insight, April 24, 2014 8:36 AM

The application helps to check your writing (in English) not only regarding spelling and grammer but adds tools to check examples of the use of a certain phrase, context and synonyms, too.

Class Charts - seating plans and behavior management software

Class Charts - seating plans and behavior management software | 7th grade ELA | Scoop.it

Seating charts are an essential part of any good teacher’s tool kit. They help organise students into appropriate learning groups and minimise behaviour issues – the class teacher asserts their authority before the lesson even begins. We take seating charts a step further. You can optionally include and display key data (eg SEN, reading age) about each pupil which is used to intelligently position pupils in the classroom to maximise learning.

As I  expect positive behaviour and engagement from my students,  I find it pretty useless. However,  it may be greatly interesting for keeping records on, for instance,  learning to learn sklills or procedures; for mastering processes.....etc.

Gary Harwell's curator insight, January 12, 2014 3:17 AM

This could be another good tool for Class Administration

Raul Alanis Jr's curator insight, February 6, 2014 4:11 PM

Un charmant petit air de "c'était mieux avant" non ?

Krysta Hammond's curator insight, September 19, 2013 4:40 PM

Definitely an element which seems to be missing in modern technical communication. Love the personal element - teaching students to take the time and the patience to write an actual letter - instead of the quick often emotionless text.
