Playing helps children learning to make decisions, control impulses, think differently, and negotiate differences.

ATHINA MALAPANI's insight:

I strongly believe that children in our days are very oppressed and they are obliged to do parents-directed activities, that is what parents think is important and helpful for them and their future, such as more lessons, foreign languages, learning computers etc. Of course, there are activities important for children and their professional future, but they must led their children to take some decisions in order to cultivate creativly their leisure time and feel free and indepented. So, I agree that free play helps kids cultivate themselves and be indepented, think critically and creativly, broaden their horizons, cultivate their cooperation and communication with the others. Children who do not play with other children, they cannot be socially cultivated. It has also observed that they are incapable of socialising with the others and cooperate, so they have problems with their socialization and in being part and energetic members in the teams. So, I totally agree that it is an urgent need to help and encourage children learn how to play with the other peers.
