leah tsomos's insight:

my biggest concern with education is the likelyhood of our system following the American system and essentially blocking our lower and middle class students and/or crippling them with debt coupled with rising property prices and tax intensives that benefit babyboomers. Young Australian and coming generations are going to have to challenge what is considered success and what is expected of us.

Changes to centrelink payments will also mean that graduates with considerable debt will have to begin repay loans for educations that can't utilise in jobs they are over qualified and underpaid for with little room for profession based having to begin hecs repayments at 50k

the mining industry should have been taking at at a higher rate for a longer period. this would have help avoid much of the problem we are currently in. this has been proven by many resources rich countries like Norway and Iceland as opposed to many sth american nations who where striped of resources and revenue.
