Thanksgiving week starts the traditional ramp-up to the holiday shopping season.

John's insight:

Companies use many gimics to get the customer pumped to buy. The reason they work is because of how they affect our brain and desire. One huge strategy is making deadlines on sales and items. This gives us the sense that if we want it, we have to hurry. Our inner desire to have things is strong, but it can be even stronger if we have to act soon or sometimes immediately.

This could very well be true because we have become so advanced in everyday life that we dont worryu so much that we will survive but how we will live. Today, it is much more common to think of having the best luxuries, clothes, or even eating the best food. We can easily survive to the basis that natural selection adheres to.

During this time I've noticed that the people I want to be involved with are not just 'successful' in the material sense, but they have what I call the Psychology of Achievement.

John's insight:

People who are succesful carry a completely different mind set than the rest of us. They are the ones that plan ahead and team up with other intelligent, successful individuals. In the long run, they know how to make a winning situation that will lead to success.
