3D printing batteries that can fit on a grain of sand - Jennifer Lewis (Wyss Professor at Harvard) makes an interesting comment by saying "the concept is to integrate form and function". I guess it´s one of the most important things about 3D manufacturing that the main two main steps of the process (scanning/modeling and printing) and their technological evolution open tons of possibilities for innovation whether it´s construction and architecture or dentistry as well as art or fashion by allowing for new creative and combinations of form (that aren´t suitable for substractive manufacturing) and function. And if you can print batteries on basically any surface it will create new innovations ... emergence.
