Lauren Davis:  "Even for Pixar, Inside Out is an ambitious film. After all, it’s largely set inside the mind of an 11-year-old girl, and tries to metaphorically explain all of the wonderful, frustrating, and confusing things that go on inside the human head while exploring a sort of emotional truth. So how on Earth did it all come together?"

Video game technology and video games are acknowledged by Bafta now, and are rightly getting credit for what they are, which is extraordinary pieces of art.

You'll need to set aside some serious time to read these transcripts, but it'll be worth it!

This is my new must read for everyone. Lassiter's insights about computer graphics (CG) transcend his industry. They offer guidance for UX and web designers (any designer really) and businesses alike. His comments on storytelling and emotion connection are the key to success in design and business. I will be quoting this article for years to come.

I would absolutely recommend this to everyone.

Frank Rose:  "Summer is now officially over, and for Hollywood the results were not good. No, the industry didn't suffer a repeat of the string of debacles that hit last year, when one mega-budget picture after another—White House Down, The Lone Ranger, Pacific Rim, Turbo, R.I.P.D.—unceremoniously tanked. In fact, the news was actually worse."

Interesting article, more and moer it's about the experince. It started when we as audience could tape out on tv programs and now movies are more and more released on line. What's the next step? Play a active part in the movie? That's round the corner I think.

Charlie Dare's curator insight, August 12, 2013 12:16 AM

If producing a video music or TV product in changing times of digital down loads poor payment for musicians as well as technicians~ "What is a movie or a TV program? Is it the creative message, the story, or the medium of distribution, whether movie theater of living room TV set?"

All the more reason to take a transmedia storytelling approach to film marketing :)

Louise Robinson-Lay's curator insight, March 21, 2013 5:05 AM

teaching about film can be enhanced with the use of trailers. Analyzing the importance off them, the structure of them and the key features is a great way in to film study.
