It all goes back to the same adage: "If you can dream it, you can do it"... but first you must READ about it. And for that, we need libraries

Such that  any real cinematic 360 is to be made using the existing professional cameras and  any future cameras must be able to provide high quality lensing and full frame chipsets, this so that the  latitude  and  Dynamic Range  of the image is constant with existing linear cinematic production. The company aims to deliver at least 14k image at 4k speeds!   They have  vision to improve delivery to HMD, Smart TV and mobile platforms. This complete package includes everything you need to capture stunning cinematic VR content at ridiculous resolutions.

Included is the 3-Axis Eye Professional VR Camera Rig, 42 Blackmagic Micro Cinema Cameras, 42 Rokinon Lenses, a Sachtler Heavy Duty tripod, 4 hour system battery and charger, GPS timecode, 42 camera synchronization (genlock), wireless monitoring, wireless remote control, all wiring and accessories, professional flight cases (for everything), and for a limited time... includes $5,000 worth of Pro-Grade PNY SD cards, for 4 hours of continuous, uninterrupted recording.
Christian Murray's insight:
As i prepare to do a 24k 360 test using 4xRED Weapons  i thought I would cover this rig from 360 Designs. They are trying to secure  a market place against the likes of Nokia and JauntVR. The problem with this kind of Rig is too many pieces = too many variables for failure. and with no ability to check all cameras you could lose a shot. Funny enough i believe it was bac in 98 that Motorola made a very similar rig but back then it was slightly larger! The company does make some nice looking small rigs. We'll see how the quality of image produced by the RED's at 4 and 8k stands against the 42 Black Magic cameras! For sure you could do a few shoots with the RED's on rental before achieving that budget cost of purchasing such a monster.

Live, 360, or virtual video: Facebook's new video formats catch marketers' eyes - Tnooz | 360-degree media | Scoop.it
Attention, travel marketers: Facebook has upgraded its live video broadcasting feature and is promoting 360 videos which let users pan around images.
Christian Murray's insight:
Facebook have success with their live streaming component, effectively challenging the likes of Periscope based on a substantial backend and resources. I believe that with the  prominent growth of their 360  player that we should see them also integrate  360 live feeds in the future. This gives me some  inkling that we will see a battle for distribution coming up and the  LITTLESTAR  company, who have Disney investment will really have to up their game as You tube and the likes also start to  squeeze them out of the general consciousness. This however  also means that  specific targeted  content platforms  may now also have a chance to start grabbing the market. So maybe Littlestar can move to the film business specific and be safe with exclusive distribution of those materials. Interesting times ahead!

This new system is the first to concentrate on getting a live signal in a compact form for integration with IP broadcasting. the  entry price point of $3500 US reserves it for production companies or  well off independents. Christian Murray's insight:
I do not usually cover content but this is a great example of  Sci-fi action in 360-3d. A nice  job of the CGI elements and objects. Word   quite well on the HMD, though i do look forward to  future HMD that have  a wide field of view.
So if you have an Android phone and a lens set HMD?Googl Cardboard or better, then you can have an interesting film action experience. I also like that he took a different approach to removing crew and kit by shooting separate halves of the film!  physically that is, first he  shoot the left side of the set  then the right side of the set followed by some  pretty basic Roto  work for track removal. All the same i know the camera lenses  pretty much suck and the chip sets are small so  don't really expect cinematic  quality more the hybrid of a Video Game at this point.
