An Infinite Collaborative Image Canvas: CanvasDropr

An Infinite Collaborative Image Canvas: CanvasDropr | 21st Century Literacy and Learning | Scoop.it

CanvasDropr provides a virtually infinite online canvas on which you and your friends / contacts can easily add, position, resize and rotate photos and video clips at will.

CanvasDropr can be used to brainstorm around visual collections, to select and organize images, and to prepare visual portfolios or tours to share with others or to be published online.

From the official site: "The center of the CanvasDropr idea is to work and collaborate on a so-called "Canvas".

The canvas can be shared by an unlimited amount of people, and changes made in the canvas are updated real-time in every user’s canvas.

Users can easily drag and drop new images directly from their desktop onto the canvas."

CanvasDrops allows you to text chat in real-time with other "collaborators" you have invited as well as to set permissions for what "public" users can edit or modify on a "public canvas.

It is possible to place photos and video clips coming from Facebook, YouTube, Flickr and Picasa or to import one simply by providing its URL.

The final canvas can be shared on FB or Twitter, downloaded as an "image" or a .zip file containing all of its images and can also be "embedded" on any site or blog.

The service is free to use.

and when I say this most people say 'but I like to learn', and they obviously missed the point... think pre-language humans / post-language humans, we will take for granted that everyone masters our language, id est the sum of all human knowledge.
dephunked's comment, January 29, 2013 4:47 PM
we´ll take the worlds knowledge for granted, just like our previous language, just like our tap-water, just like we´ve always assimilated our technology and made it a part of who we are, our cultural/social identity, it´s the human condition,
Chandan Gupta's curator insight, April 2, 2013 3:39 PM

Of course, it should be in system should be synced, but not as a whole. Partially, the system can be implemented. In my point of view it is must to adopt the advancement. Avoiding the thinking of classroom, the system must understand about the participation of the student.

Les Howard's insight:

Article indicates iPads increase learning. Does this require teachers to structure learning in ways that encourage the construction of understanding. If so, is it this way of learning, the technology, or a combination of the two, that leads to increased learning?

Don’t Throw out Baby Macbeth: Common Core says think bigger, better, and beyond the book | Roz Linder.com | 21st Century Literacy and Learning | Scoop.it

Common Core is akin to telling you that students have to learn how to play tennis or piano. They are expected to know the game. The game? Deconstructing text. Because in the real world you need to be able to understand text, create text, and interpret text. The Common Core does NOT state that you cannot teach poetry, fiction, or narrative nonfiction. What it does say is that you must teach ANALYSIS. Kids need to know how to deconstruct text. All text. English teachers lament all across the nation that they cannot teach their poetry unit as is. And they can’t. We, English teachers, no longer just teach content. We teach skills so that kids can tackle any content. If you are just teaching the content of books as the center of your curriculum, shame on you.
