Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Great Tutorial on How to Create your Own eBook on iPad ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | 21st Century Technology Integration | Scoop.it

"Creating an eBook online is no rocket science and anyone with the rudimentary knowledge of how to use internet can get his/her eBook up and viral in a couple of minutes provided the content part of it is already written in a word document. I find the typing and editing part the most  difficult stage in this process;  however, if you just want to set up a short ebook for your students then that would not take you much time.

Just a couple of weeks ago I shared here in Educational Technology and Mobile Learning a list of great apps  to use to create eBooks on iPad and I received several emails following that post and some of you asked for tutorials on this topic. Here is one of my favorite tutorials on how to create an eBook on iPad that I always recommend to my fellow teachers. Check it out below and share with us what you think of it. Enjoy"

I see the tell tale signs of my beloved Comic Life!

Stefanie Stewart Crosser's curator insight, September 20, 2014 5:08 PM

There are various ways to use technology in the classroom, but how long does it take to prepare lessons through technology? They say "Don't take your work home" because it can seriously affect one's family and home-life, but is there enough time in the day to prepare effective lessons without taking your job home? Teachers are not paid enough to create their own lesson plans using technology - let along to teach, with all of the constant changing standards!

5 Ways Schools Can Think Like Startups

5 Ways Schools Can Think Like Startups | 21st Century Technology Integration | Scoop.it

"This is the age of the startup. The age where a teenager can change the world from his basement, and almost daily new apps and platforms are launched with the modest goal of, well, changing the world. In this age, Pete Cashmore and Mark Zuckerberg have more social capital than Ford or General Mills... So maybe the startup mentality has something to offer education–some lessons to not only pursue reform, but to understand itself better in the process.

Go Green with Print Friendly

Go Green with Print Friendly | 21st Century Technology Integration | Scoop.it

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I’m recycling a post about Print Friendly, one of my favorite “go green” Cool Tools for the Classroom.

This nifty service optimizes and formats web pages for a perfect print experience by removing unwanted ads, text, navigation information and images so the user can save both paper and ink when printing necessary documents.  Besides being free and super easy to use, the best part is that this application is that documents formatted utilizing the Print Friendly site can also be converted to a PDF and saved for later use.

Let’s Talk About Captions!

Let’s Talk About Captions! | 21st Century Technology Integration | Scoop.it

The Perfect Captions app is a great way to incorporate technology in your classroom in an engaging way!  This free apps allows students to extend their thinking on a variety of topics.

I love using this app with primary source documents, but it’s also perfect for reinforcing literacy skills. Students can add captions to demonstrate their understanding of what a fiction character or historical figure might be thinking.   Have students create captions to record their predictions, to jot questions that they have, or write dialogue for the main character.

3 Engaging Note-Taking Apps

3 Engaging Note-Taking Apps | 21st Century Technology Integration | Scoop.it

As a teacher and life-long learner, I take a lot of notes! One of the best changes for me has been taking notes on my iPad because now I often find myself having fun trying to create attractive and useful notes. The note-taking process keeps me amused during meetings and the task keeps me challenged and attentive as I try to draw and explain the ideas being shared.
