Bring virtual reality field trips to your school with Google Expeditions

Bring virtual reality field trips to your school with Google Expeditions | 21st Century Technology Integration | Scoop.it

At The Bronx Latin School in New York City, teacher Katrina Roman says the topic of ancient history doesn’t usually set students abuzz. But this week, they took a field trip to ancient Aztec ruins using Google Expeditions, a virtual reality teaching tool built with Google Cardboard. Normally, their assignment would involve poring over photocopied photographs, but instead, they stood at the top of Chichen Itza, then examined detailed carvings at Tenochtitlan.

18 Apps For Teaching Kids Programming

18 Apps For Teaching Kids Programming | 21st Century Technology Integration | Scoop.it

So, what is the best way to present programming for kids? Through play, of course. The best way of teaching kids code is to present it as a game, such as using Minecraft and its red logic blocks. As a result, computer coding for kids has never been easier or more entertaining. The end result is to hopefully have kids coding all the technology they are using and thus create a better, brighter and more customizable future for themselves.
