The primary school laptop project suffered yet another setback on Wednesday.

The High Court stopped the Education ministry from proceeding to award the tender afresh.

Justice Weldon Korir issued the orders following an urgent application to stop the process by Indian firm Olive Telecommunications PVT Ltd, whose Sh24 billion tender to supply the laptops was cancelled last week by the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board.

Kongo Kimani, a student from Greensteads School in Nakuru, has won a scholarship for the 2014 foundation programme at Taylors College in Perth, Australia.

Kongo received his certificate from Deasy Sartika, the Regional Marketing Manager of Taylors College and Jane Mburuti of Australian Education Consultants (AEC). AEC arranges Australian university, college and secondary school education for East African students.

Synovate Poll: 62% of Kenyans think schools are not ready for laptops

Kenyans are more concerned with the High Cost of Living more than their security. A research by poll star IPSOS Synovate reveals half of those polled say the most serious concern they have is the unmanageable cost of living followed by lack of employment. Striking lecturers defy court orders.

The Industrial court says orders stopping the Lecturers' strike remain in force until they are challenged. Judge Monica Mbaru has ordered that Lecturers be served with the suit papers and reply in the next 14 days. But as Enock Sikolia reports, there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel as lecturers' unions maintain that the strike is still on.

Some very relevant "how do you" probes here. There is, of course, the eternal struggle between staying focused and deviating into the peripheral - making these questions quite meaningful. I imagine that off-the-grid browser-based solutions where curriculum-related content informs the knowledge management system do not suffer of this disease. Right?
