There's a message here for leaders and managers.  It's not about the value of a mission statement -- that's correct.  It's about the quality.  My experience with multiple organizations in manufacturing, entertainment, finance, education, and non-profits is that organizations do not have "clearly defined and articulated" mission statements.  They're often generic and very weak!
