Excelentes herramientas para llevar al salón de clases.

Oskar Almazan's curator insight, April 12, 6:22 PM
Augmented reality–a technology that uses a trigger image to superimpose digital content over a user’s view of the real world–is growing in popularity and accessibility, and it holds a wealth of potential for education. Often described as “QR codes on steroids,” the technology offers new and exciting ways for students to interact with lessons, said Jeff Peterson, an instructional technologist in the Lamar Consolidated ISD in Texas. Peterson presented a TCEA 2017 session on augmented reality’s application in classrooms.

Aurasma provides an image-recognition software for creating and sharing augmented reality experiences. Users pan with their mobile device cameras to scan images in their physical environment to trigger a separate image or video to play on their screens.

This is a great Idea of lesson plan. You can integrate productive skill with a little of exploration and the use of technology. it is new and fun way for the students to write.
Coconut Curator's curator insight, April 30, 10:44 AM
Augmented reality without all the fancy hardware. Locations can be tagged as well as historical events and other data. There are many uses for Aurasma in primary and secondary schools and it would be a wonderful tool to help make museum exhibitions come to life.

Stiktu

Stiktu | Creative Tools... and ESL | Scoop.it

Stiktu is a new way to be creative and express yourself. Add your thoughts and remarks right on top of objects in the real world. That goes right into our ESL class: Ask students to label objects around them with names, adjectives... ask them to describe colleagues and this description will appear as you place your smartphone or your tablet in front of him... innovation and imagination = learning!

Getting Learning out of the Classroom with Augmented Reality

Getting Learning out of the Classroom with Augmented Reality | Creative Tools... and ESL | Scoop.it

Some examples of how we can actually get students using this technology and how it can superimpose the Internet onto their physical world. So here are some teaching suggestion which exploit two augmented reality type apps and gives students some reading, listening and speaking practice, as well as a bit of exercise.

"Auracaching": As a big fan of geocaching lessons, I have loved the results of getting students up and moving around as they learn various subject matter. For kinesthetic learners there is nothing better. Auracaching brings elements of geocaching in from the outdoors. Teachers or Students create auras about a particular unit or topic.

Each Aura (or station) should prompt an action from the participants. Then place the objects in various places around the room or building. The teacher then gives the students hints about where each aura can be found. Once each aura is found the student completes the activity prompted by the Aura.

Excellent Videos OnThe Use of Augmented Reality Apps by Students ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Excellent Videos OnThe Use of Augmented Reality Apps by Students ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Creative Tools... and ESL | Scoop.it

"Below are some good videos I got a few days ago on examples of how some augmented reality apps are being used with kids to help them improve their learning. If the concept of augmented reality if all new to you then here is a brief definition of it: Augmented Reality is exactly what the name implies: an augmented version of realty created by mixing technology with the known world. It might be a distorted, augmented, or less augmented version of the actual world but in its basic form, augmented reality is a simulation or rather a way of superimposing digital contents into the real context."

The Department of Citizenship & Immigration in Australia created an augmented reality app for Harmony day which was AWESOME. I'm all for this near-holographic technology in classrooms! Best thing is - it's technology that gets students out of their chairs and keeps them engaged while they walk around exploring the 360 degree augmented "reality".

NASA also made a cool Mars Rover app.
