The flipped classroom

What is so exciting about this concept is that it brings together the skills that young people need: technological literacy, creativity and collaboration. It also gives their schoolwork purpose and promotes students working together – all things that are shown to promote achievement.

This is a great activity to get students to work on in pairs.  I do this when I have my 'half' class, about 14 students.  As a class the five photos are chosen one by one.  Once they can see all five photos on the screen, each pair has 5-10 minutes to write a five-sentence story.  Decide whether they have to follow the order of the photos or write it in the order they choose.  Once they've finished, they read out their stories and the best one is voted and quickly written up and shared online.  The class can think of a great TITLE to accompany the story.  They loved this activity.  I did it with 15-year olds.
