Stiktu

Stiktu | 2.0 Tools... and ESL | Scoop.it

Stiktu is a new way to be creative and express yourself. Add your thoughts and remarks right on top of objects in the real world. That goes right into our ESL class: Ask students to label objects around them with names, adjectives... ask them to describe colleagues and this description will appear as you place your smartphone or your tablet in front of him... innovation and imagination = learning!

Sock Puppets

Sock Puppets is a highly engaging app that allows you to create your own stories with virtual sock puppets straight into your iPhone in a very easy and intuitive way.
Add Puppets, scenery, backgrounds and additional objects and start creating your story. The puppets automatically lip-synch to your voice when you touch the record button. Children can create stories and add the characters they prefer. Storytelling is probably the best way to foster writing and reading skills as well as literacy. While recording simply choose a puppet, tap it and that puppet will lip-synch, tap a different puppet and switch auto lip-synching to it. Stories can be as rich as the children’s imagination can reach. Backgrounds can be added to take puppets to different places within the story.
Children can later share their stories across the net, which makes it also highly rewarding.

Sock Puppets is free, although extra features need an upgrade (clips only last 30 sec, which could be enough for very short stories... longer stories need to be cut into different clips)
