Following the project about the construction of a complete “Parco degli Eroi” (Heroes Park) on time for the celebrations, at Gianicolo many renovation and improvement works have been brought on. The restauration of herms and Giuseppe and Anita Garibaldi’s statues, the reset of Ossario dei caduti di Colle del Pino (The Colle del Pino fallen Charnel House) are only few interventions of the ones did. The main event will be the opening of a new museum dedicated to Repubblica Romana (Roman Republic) of 1849 near Porta San Pancrazio and the setting of a great steel plate engraved with the 69 articles of Roman Constitution that, with its clear and simple articles, represented an essential guide for the draft of the Italian Constitution of 1948.
Fashion models at Palazzo Altemps 150 years after the unification of Italy, the world of fashion celebrates this important landmark through a wonderful exhibition called: “Eroine di stile. La moda italiana veste il Risorgimento”. This means Italian fashion wants to create 80 dresses for 35 heroines of the Italian history. 35 is the number of designers, who are partecipating in the celebration: Giorgio Armani, Emilio Pucci, Fendi, Gattinoni, Prada, Ferragamo, Valentino, Roberto Cavalli, … Each designer studied the personality of the heroines in order to best represent them. What they are creating is not just a simple dress, but an image of the individuality of the person: colors, materials used for dresses and the way they have been sewed. Even if the designers did not personally know them, through stories, archives they could create something for them. I think it is amazing!
